802.11n is a newer standard of Wi-Fi LAN, or wireless local area network technology, subsequent to standards 802.11a, 802.11b and 802.11g. The standard is actually known as IEEE 802.11n, as it is a protocol developed by the international non-profit Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.In simpler terms, a router with 802.11n compliance, has the highest data transfer speed (150Mbps-300mbps) and are more capable to pass through barriers like furnitures and walls, than the ones with other specifications.
